Nestled in the Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur and located within the 5-star W Kuala Lumpur Hotel is Willow KL; a vividly brilliant restaurant and bar that pairs mouth-watering delights in concert with live music* - the ideal venue for any elevated social engagement, be it an intimate occasion or celebratory event.

Like the Willow warbler - which is one of the world’s longest migratory birds, the food and drink at Willow KL are not restricted to any specific region or category of sustenance. That limitless freedom to create is the very motivation for Head Chef Timothy Wang’s innovative menu - which unites ingredients from across the globe and furnishes those flavours into joyous dishes and beverages which are exclusive to Willow KL.

Additionally, the restaurant and bar are the namesake of a bird which is distinguished by its song. With that in mind, the ambience of Willow KL is an orchestration of sounds from the lounge act and harmonised through its visually elegant interior as well as a perfect backdrop of the world-famous Petronas Twin Towers.

At the age of 21, Chef Timothy Wang’s path to culinary success began in the kitchens of the prestigious Eleven Madison Park Restaurant in New York under the guidance of award-winning Michelin-starred chef Daniel Humm. Upon graduating from the world-renowned Culinary Institute of America, he continued his career at the illustrious NoMad Hotel in New York where he worked his way up to Chef de Partie.

Eager to expand his horizons, Chef Wang returned East to Singapore where he honed his craft under the mentorship of Chef Sam Aisbett at the one-Michelin-starred restaurant, Whitegrass. His hunger for knowledge and new experiences eventually led him to the Caribbean in the Dominican Republic where he opened Piano Wine Dine & Music with a friend.

After traversing the world and developing both his creative and technical skills, the Malaysian-born chef returned home to join the opening team at Willow KL where he rose through the ranks, going from Sous Chef to Head Chef in less than two years. He now leads the ambitious kitchen at Willow KL with tenacious energy, and remains ever committed to ensuring each guest has an experience to remember through his innovative culinary creations.
