Nestled in the Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur and located within the 5-star W Kuala Lumpur Hotel is Willow KL; a vividly brilliant restaurant and bar that pairs mouth-watering delights in concert with live music* - the ideal venue for any elevated social engagement, be it an intimate occasion or celebratory event.

Like the Willow warbler - which is one of the world’s longest migratory birds, the food and drink at Willow KL are not restricted to any specific region or category of sustenance. That limitless freedom to create is the very motivation for Head Chef Lroy Lim and Head Bartender Osmund Bernard’s innovative menu - which unites ingredients from across the globe and furnishes those flavours into joyous dishes and beverages which are exclusive to Willow KL.

Additionally, the restaurant and bar are the namesake of a bird which is distinguished by its song. With that in mind, the ambience of Willow KL is an orchestration of sounds from the lounge act and harmonised through its visually elegant interior as well as a perfect backdrop of the world-famous Petronas Twin Towers.

Chef Lim is an accomplished multi-national culinarian who has explored three continents - spanning Europe, Asia and North America - in pursuit of the world’s most captivating food.

After his time as Michelin Star Chef Philippe Chevrier’s understudy, Chef Lim’s passion for the arts of fine dining only grew further.

His creative hunger has been fed by spending the past decade travelling the world and working in some of the most prestigious restaurants at each destination. They include Domaine de Châteauvieux (Switzerland), A Voce Madison (New York), and Saint Pierre (Singapore) to name a few.

Originally from Malaysia, Chef Lim has returned home to share his culinary inspirations at Willow KL where he’s drawn from his experiences to create an innovative menu without borders.

“Whether it’s high end or street food, I’ve been blessed with the freedom to create anything from anywhere and refining it to the demanding standards of Willow KL. That’s exciting for both the guest and my team,” said Chef Lim.

He added, “The vision is to deliver amazing dishes that are usually reserved for fine dining - which is usually strict and conservative - but in a more fun and liberal environment”.

Osmund Bernard

- Head Bartender

Osmund Bernard has been a well-respected bartender for more than ten years and was crowned the 2016 World Class Bartender of the Year.

Bernard now serves as the chief mixology architect where guests can delight in his Willow KL-exclusive creations such as Honey Bee, Eden Melon, Willow Tea Punch, and 8 Savoury.

“Chef Lim and I don’t work independently of each other. My creations are designed to pair the perfect beverage with each unique dish,” stated Bernard.

“Since most of the food is unique to Willow KL, the drinks can’t be found elsewhere either because they were designed to complement each other. Our service team is armed with the knowledge of what drinks are ideal for each respective food choice and that’s critical to what we’re trying to accomplish here”.
